Privacy Policy
Effective date: March 8, 2026
ntxt.ai ("we", "us") is a Chrome extension and web app that helps you write AI-powered LinkedIn comments. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how it's handled.
1. What we collect
- Account data — your name and email address when you create an account.
- Your LinkedIn profile URL — when you use the ntxt.ai extension on LinkedIn, we read your own profile URL from the page (e.g.
linkedin.com/in/yourname) and store it linked to your session. This lets us associate anonymous usage with a LinkedIn identity. - LinkedIn post text — the text of posts you choose to comment on is sent to our server to generate a comment. It is not stored beyond what is needed to produce the response.
- Context you configure — your role description, context blocks, and comment goal preferences, stored to personalise generations.
- Usage data — a count of how many comments you have generated in a session or account period, used to enforce usage limits.
- Session ID — a random identifier stored locally in the extension to track anonymous usage before you sign up.
2. How we use it
- To generate AI comments tailored to your context and role.
- To enforce fair usage limits and distinguish free from paid usage.
- To understand who is using ntxt.ai in aggregate (no individual profiling).
3. What we don't do
- We do not sell your data to anyone.
- We do not read your LinkedIn messages, connections, or any data beyond what is visible on the post you are commenting on.
- We do not share your LinkedIn profile URL or account details with third parties.
4. Third-party services
We use OpenAI's API to generate comment suggestions. The text of the LinkedIn post you are commenting on is sent to OpenAI for processing. OpenAI's Privacy Policy applies to that data.
5. Data retention
Account data and your configured context are retained as long as your account is active. Anonymous session data (session ID and associated profile URL) is retained for up to 90 days. You can request deletion at any time by contacting us.
6. Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal data we hold about you. To do so, contact us at the address below.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. If the changes are material, we'll update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you by email.
